INTRODUCTION
The theme of the given course paper is Complex Transformations in Translation. We, as future professional translators, may determine the process of translation as one of the most difficult one that is why it is better to simplify it somehow. In the given course paper, we will try to find out the definite help of complex transformations, their roles in the process of translation and of course apply all this on the practice. According to the translational theory, we have three types of transformations, but our work requires complex transformations.
Translation is the interpretation of the meaning of a text in one language and the production, in another language, of an equivalent text that communicates the same message.
The main goal of the translation is to achieve adequacy. An adequate, or as it is also called, equivalent translation is a translation that is carried out at a level necessary and sufficient to convey the contents of the source text, subject to the norms of the target language.
The main task of the translator in achieving adequacy is to skillfully make various translation transformations so that the target text as accurately as possible conveys all the information contained in the source text, subject to the relevant rules of the target language.
Transformation is the basis of most translation techniques. It lies in changing the formal (lexical or grammatical transformations) or semantic (semantic transformations) components of the source text while preserving the information intended for transmission. Translation must take into account a number of constraints, including context, the rules of grammar of the two languages, their writing conventions, their idioms and the like. Translational transformations occur because of incomplete or community differences in English and Russian languages.
