The theme of the Senior Thesis is “The semantic peculiarities of phrasal verbs”. This Senior Thesis examines the English constructions typically known as ‘phrasal         verbs’.
         The topicality of the study is defined by an attempt to reveal why the traditional lexico-semantic analyses of the phrasal verbs do not seem to give learners enough help to understand and use phrasal verbs properly. Phrasal verbs are one of the most idiosyncratic features of the English language. They pose many problems for non-native speakers, because their meanings have to be learned separately from the meaning of their verbal bases. Phrasal verbs certainly are an interesting topic of study because of their peculiarities. This Senior Thesis tackles questions         concerning the nature of phrasal verbs.
The novelty of the Senior Thesis is that no explicit research on present topic has been done before. The features of phrasal verbs have been studied at various times by many foreign scholars, but in our country such kind of investigation is just spinning up.
Phrasal verbs have received a considerable amount of attention in recent years. Phrasal verbs have been discovered as an important component in English as a foreign language curricula. The interest in phrasal verbs is clearly reflected in modern dictionaries, especially those which list phrasal verbs separately in their own right and give them separate entries. Besides, special dictionaries have been designed       exclusively for    phrasal      verbs.
